Experience

2019-2020  Buffalo Creek Art  Center  Gardnerville NV  

  • 5 month month residency  created a 23’  site specific kinetic piece  for   Permanent collection of the sculpture park

2019   Sculpture Space  Utica NY  2 month residency - 

  • Collaborated with an international group of sculptors  in experimental media 

  • Curated and organized outdoor sculpture installation of   Dutch sculptor ,PJ Bruhnick’s work  

  • created a 14’ mixed media sculpture that is currently on view in Hudson  Yards NYC.                               

2007-2018– Adjunct Professor, William Paterson University – Wayne, NJ         Designed and implemented new course (foundry, casting metal               sculpture; undergrad & grad)

  • Organized the first annual collaborative iron symposium at William Paterson University working with Ramapo College of NJ, Buffalo State College, and professional fine artists;

  • Selected and secured guest lecturers from foundries, mold makers and professional artists

  • Identified and arranged for visiting artists to provide studio critiques to students

  • Collaborate with Gallery director and assist in community outreach programming and events

  • Reintroduced a defunct foundry program Introduced students to casting aluminum, bronze, and iron

  • Built new equipment to supplement facilities utilizing lost wax method, introducing ceramic shell process to program

  • Initiated new processes: resin sand mold, ceramic shell, direct wax modeling, and direct burnouts in conjunction with digital process and 3d PLA prints

  • Developed and implemented an experiential pedagogical model Creative Enterprise

2017 – Visiting Artist UNHCR, UNICEF- Bekaa Valley Syrian/Lebanon border  

  • Commissioned to create a collaborative installation combining the efforts of local villagers and Syrian Refugees

2013 – Adjunct Professor. Ramapo College of New Jersey – Mahwah, NJ     

  • Liaised with site supervisors, overseeing 25 students working in various sites for 16 week /Bergen County Jail, Essex County Jail, Rockland Psychiatric Center 

  • Taught Art and Interaction,  a truly remarkable course in which students gain experience with various inpatient populations and prisons through art practice

2009 – 2010 – Adjunct Professor - Caldwell College 

  • Taught all levels of Ceramics and sculpture

  • Responsible for the 3d studio equipment and firing all the works on campus

2011 – 2013 – Gallery Fellow- SoHo 20

  • Recipient of a 2-year fellowship

  • Solo exhibition

  • Implemented a mentorship program 

2008 -2012 Vice President  & Current Board Member- Sculptors Guild        

  • Responsible for overseeing yearly venue of exhibits 

  • Produced exhibition catalogue for Governors Island 

  • Coordinated installation of both indoor and outdoor works 

  • Designed a new tier for Guild structure, incorporating apprentices

 

Commercial Work

 1999– Present – Freelance Commercial Sculptor – 515 Greenwich St. New York, NY

Curator for multiple public spaces in commercially held buildings throughout New York/Tri-State area, curating commercial/residential spaces

  • Consult and import of marble and alabaster traveling to Volterra, Carrerra, and Pietrasanta (Italy) for The Compleat Sculptor, NYC

  • Responsible for duplicating specific elements for historically sensitive sites

  • Create and caste architectural elements 

  • Commissioned to design build outs for Lord and Taylor, NYC holiday windows 2012/2013

  • Work directly with architects and contractors to coordinate engineering with design needs  

  • Design and implement stage sets for dance companies and off-Broadway theaters
